Ouch!

I mentioned in a previous post that I'm finally back in the gym. This time I will be consistent because it's what I want and it's what it will take for me to be successful in creating the body I desire. Well, today I am sore! It's a good sore and I know this feeling...I've felt it before :) I don't believe in the saying "No pain, No gain", but I do believe you need to know you've worked your muscles.

In addition to getting back in the gym, I've accepted a push up (PUP) challenge. The first week we are to complete 100 PUPs, in the 2nd week 200 PUPs and it increases by 100 each week until the 8th week. That is why the title of this post is "Ouch"! I'm excited to see how my arms shape up with this challenge. I'll have to show off my guns afterward!!

Is your "diet" for life?

I came across a quote that really resonated with me recently. It said "Stop chasing the next great diet that you think will make you thin. It's time to go inward. Is health a core value?".

Being healthy has to be a lifestyle. Will it be perfect? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! But it has to be something that you can do for life. Ask yourself if your "diet" is something that you can sustain for a lifetime? If not, it may be time to get educated on what a healthy diet truly is. Long, lasting results are what most people desire, but settle on a quick fix for something that doesn't last. There are many great programs out there that not only educate, but provide lasting results. If you need some suggestions or guidance, just let me know!

To your health,
Christy

Overcoming Fears

This week was a big week for me. I've been going to the gym for many years, but it's been hit or miss since I've had my daughter. Lately it's been a big miss!! I finally got back in there this week and enjoyed every minute of it. I don't like feeling like a fish out of water there, but it's been so long that I had to get reacquainted with the equipment and the exercises. Thank goodness it was like riding my bike and it all came back very quickly.

The other issue I had was taking my daughter to the kid's club. She's become a mama's girl and sometimes doesn't handle me leaving her in a new environment very well. We decided that it would be best if Benny would drop her off so I wouldn't have to deal with my emotions when I heard her screaming. Honestly, it hurt me more than it hurt her. I peeked in and saw her playing and that made me feel better. I still don't think I want to take her there after work because that is our time together. However, I just may try it every now and then, especially for the Hip Hop class!!

Sometimes it just takes getting out of your way to experience some success and success is what will keep you motivated and pushing for more.

Here's to overcoming your fears and finding SUCCESS!!

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog...I'm so glad to have you joining me on my journey as a Vibrant Healthy Mom.

I named this Vibrant Healthy Mom because 1) that's how I envision myself and 2) because I'm on a journey to keep that vision alive and help others that are on their journey to be healthy also.

Although I am a Certified Health/Wellness Coach, I admit I have had some struggles after the birth of my daughter. I've gotten back to the basics: eating healthy and moving my body! That is exactly what I hope to help others do, and at the same time discuss the thought process and actions that it takes to be successful.

To your health,
Christy
